This 2-day course teaches physiotherapists advanced skills in rehabilitation of field sport athletes.
The focus is on practical sessions to give physiotherapists the confidence and competence to plan and execute expert exercise rehabilitation from injury to return to play. These practical sessions are grounded in contemporary, evidence-based rehabilitation and exercise science.
Dr Merv Travers PhD is joined by Dr Brendyn Appleby PhD, the Head S&C Coach for the Australian Men’s Hockey Team. Merv and Brendyn combine their extensive experience and research base from physiotherapy and S&C backgrounds to deliver an exceptional learning experience for physiotherapists looking to improve their rehabilitation knowledge and skills.
Small group sizes ensure this advanced course provides participants with individual attention and plentiful opportunities for questions and feedback.

Brendyn is currently the Head S&C Coach for the Australian Men’s Hockey Team, the Kookaburras, a position he has held since 2014. Between 2017 and 2019, he was responsible for both the men’s and women’s national teams for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and World Cups. Prior to hockey, Brendyn was responsible for the strength and power programming at the Western Force rugby union franchise for almost nine seasons having started his career at the WA Institute of Sport in 1999.
